We are happy to announce a partnership with Building Blocks, a nonprofit development company in the process of building a new a 45 unit, mixed-use affordable housing building in North Minneapolis called The Commons at Penn.

When the complex opens in a few months, we will be the onsite social service provider utilizing our 6 component Resident Services program model to increase housing stability, community safety and opportunities for family success.

Our first priority is to provide year-round out-of-school time programming for K-12th grade youth in the first floor community space.  The program will offer a variety of academic, enrichment, recreation and life skills activities, as well as have a strong youth voice component making the program tailor-made for participating youth.

Help us build social connections among families and children living in affordable housing throughout the Twin Cities metro this holiday season and all throughout the year.

Social connections developed through community building events like National Night Out, community dinners and craft activities, create a ripple effect throughout the community - combating social isolation, decreasing crime, stabilizing families and connecting residents to community resources.

When residents know one other, everyone benefits. They begin to take ownership in their community and crime decreases. That is why Opportunity Neighborhood provides a wide variety of community events to residents. Whether it's National Night Out, community dinners or movie nights, these events provide a platform for residents to meet one other and build community.
